I need to get reports out so I purchased a new retail version of ms pro no plus and installed on the desktop. All went well no errors, and it fully activated. I go to run word, excel, etc and I get Need to be activated error message and it is indicating I am running Pro Plus?? I have done the above cycle uninstall, reboot, install numerous time with the same result. I just noticed, after I uninstall all offices I can still run word, excel, outlook, etc without any office product showing in "prog and feats", but I get pro plus asking for activation.

If so it is not a surprise that the operating system is confused, as they will share information and registry entries will remain after they are removed.
